What is Mad'Eole?

Mad'Eole - Wind in Madagascar - is the electrification of villages on the basis of locally produced wind power and other renewable energies.

From a program of 15 villages in the far north of Madagascar the villages Sahasifotra, Ambolobozokely, Ambolobozobe and Ivovona were put first into operation. 5,000 people have regular electricity for the first time.

Four more villages form the second stage.

In the electrified villages, new houses were built, small business initiated and the cohesion of the village community greatly improved because Mad'Eole makes the price of electricity for all villagers affordable while ensuring the maintenance and the subsequent replacement of the equipment.

Electricity makes development possible because the villagers themselves are strongly engaged.

Ampasindava, typisches Fischerdorf am Kanal von Mozambik, 32 km westlich von Diego-Suarez. 63 Haushalte mit 290 Menschen. Mit seinen ausgedehnten Stränden verfügt das kleine Dorf über ein sehr bedeutendes touristisches Potenzial, das durch die Einrichtung des Meeres-Schutzgebietes Nosy Hara (Inselgruppe vor Ampasindava) durch WWF und die madagassische Nationalpark-Behörde noch wesentlich aufgewertet werden dürfte. Mad'Eole hat im Auftrag des WWF Madagascar eine umfangreiche Studie über die Situation in Ampasindava (und im 7 km entfernten Mangoaka) durchgeführt.

Avec ses plages spendides le petit village dispose d'un potentiel touristique important. Ce dernier sera encore plus important une fois le parc marin couvrant le groupe des îles de Nosy Hara dont le WWF conjointement avec l'autorité national pour les aires protégées planifie sera mis en oeuvre. Mad'Eole a effectué une étude profondes sur la situation d'Ampasindava (et de Mangoaka à 7 km).

Ampasindava, typical fishing village, at seaside to Mozambik Channel, 32 km west of Diego-Suarez. 63 housholds with 290 inhabitants. With its wunderful strands this very small village has at its disposal an important touristic potenial. This potential is even more important once the planned marine park of Nosy Hara will be established by WWF and National Parc Authority. Mad'Eole realised a profound feasability study concerning the situation of Ampasindava (and Mangoaka 7 km away).
Aufgrund der Studien von Mad'Eole (Wind, Sonne, Wasser) wird ab 2011 für die beiden dörfer Ampasindava und Mangoaka ein Kleinwasserkraftwerk mit ca. 50 kW gebaut.
Basé sur les études de Mad'Eole (vent, solaire, hydraulique) les 2 villages Ampasidnava et Mangoaka recevront une centrale hydraulique avec 50 kW.
Based on Mad'Eole-studies (wind, solar, hydro) both Ampasindava and Mangoaka will be equiped with a small hydropower station of about 50 kW.
